Join us for our annual cycle tour from Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg for the Amashova Race to Durban. This is a 4 day tour which includes;
- support vehicles,
- all accommodation and meals,
- transport from Durban back to Johannesburg,
- fruit, snacks, beverages, ice water & recovery drinks on route each day.
- A GCT cycling shirt
Day 1 – 17th October 2019 Heilbron to Clarens (166km + 20km)
Riders will be transported with their bicycles from Northcliff to Heilbron where the cycling will commence. We will cycle from Heilbron to Clarens via Petrus Steyn, Reitz and Bethlehem. There will be 3 refreshment stops en route. On arrival in Bethlehem we will enjoy a packed lunch before cycling the final 70 km to the accommodation.
Day 2 – 18th October 2019 Clarens to Northern Drakensburg (138km)
Breakfast at 6am, depart accommodation at 6:45am. There will be 2 refreshment stops en route. We will conclude the ride at Bergville in the Northern Drakensberg. Here we will spend the afternoon relaxing before dinner.
Day 3 – 19th October 2019 Northern Drakensburg to Mooi River (166km)
We will once again enjoy breakfast at 6am and depart at 6:45am, with 2 refreshment stops en route. The route will take us from our accommodation in Bergville to Nottingham Road via Escourt and Mooi River. We stop at Bierfassl for a well-deserved lunch. From here we will transport everyone to Brahman and check into the accommodation. We will provide transport to an early dinner and return for an early bedtime to be ready for the Amashova the next
Day 4 Amashovo Race Day
Riders will have breakfast at 4:00am and then be transported to the start of the race in PMB via the N3. After your race you will meet the vehicles in Durban next to the Virgin Active Gym behind the Moses Mabhida Stadium to load up the bikes. A takeaway lunch will be collected on our way out of Durban as we head back to Johannesburg.
